Take a Walk in The Users‘ Shoes

At iversity, I was the first UX person to join the company. When I started, there was a lot of tension in the team: The strategic direction wasn‘t clear and user needs played almost no role in decision making. I ran a process with the whole company that encouraged people to step into the shoes of different user types and map out their experience with the iversity platform. The effect was amazing: Collaboration between different teams improved dramatically, people gained a better understanding of the business model and started to make the user a constant stakeholder in their decisions. Some teams also started to incorporate design methods into their own work under my guidance.
